Get to Know - FAS
Family Assistance Scheme (FAS) is a Flagship scheme of IAFBA. All AF personnel are members of the scheme and contribute towards it while being in service of the IAF. IAFBA through FAS provides Monthly Financial support at stipulated rates to the bereaved families of the serving and retired AF personnel (members) on demise for 15 years (for death in service) or 08 years (for death after retirement). The payment is made quarterly in instalments of three months payment at a time.
2. The rates of contribution towards the three versions of FAS i.e. FAS-97, FAS-09 and FAS-20 were different and accordingly, the payment of rehab grant is made on the basis of the membership of AF personnel to which they have contributed.

Since the AF personnel have contributed in the past at different rates during their service period, the rates of rehabilitation grant payable in the previous versions are proportionately lower.
