FAMILY ASSISTANCE SCHEME

IAFBA through FAS provides monthly financial support at stipulated rates to the bereaved families of the serving and retired AF personnel (members) on demise for 15 years (for death in service) or 08 years (for death after retirement) from the date of demise of the member.

FAS - 97

Diseased Air Veteran retired prior to introduction of the scheme i.,e. 01 Apr 1997 or was in service and retired on or before 31 Mar 2009.

FAS - 09

Diseased Air Veteran retired between 01 Apr 09 and 31Dec 2019 (both dates are inclusive).

Diseased Air Veteran retired on or after 01 Jan 2020.
